There's more gloomy news for the High Street with new figures showing that sales were down again last month. The crucial run-up to Christmas is proving slower than many had hoped, in a year where many long established businesses have gone to the wall. In other news: According to new figures the number of people out of work fell by nineteen thousand between August and October. Scotland's unemployment rate is now better than the UK as a whole.
